KARACHI: Former Australia pacer and current Pakistan bowling coach Shaun Tait heaped massive praise on the Green Shirts’ talented young fast bowler Naseem Shah, saying that the 19-year-old reminds him of his own younger days.

In a press conference ahead of Pakistan’s opening T20I of the seven-match series here at the National Stadium on Sunday, the Aussie coach said: “In some ways, he reminds me of myself when I was a younger cricketer. He’s sort of free-spirited. But I wasn’t as intelligent. I think you’ve all seen his natural abilities and skill with the new ball.”

The 39-year-old further lauded the Men in Green’s fast bowling.

“Pakistan fast bowlers have their natural abilities. They like to keep things simple but they’ve got so much ability and have a lot of flair. So, that’s already ingrained in these guys.”

The bowling coach was questioned about Shaheen Shah Afridi’s progress and responded that he isn’t really familiar with the medical update and that the only thing he knows about him is that he is progressing well and has made some substantial improvements.

Pakistan will take on England in the first T20I on Sunday at 07:30 PM (PST).
