PAK vs ENG: England beat Pakistan by 63 runs in the third T20I on Friday

KARACHI: Pakistan will cross swords with England in the last T20I of the Karachi-leg the series here at the National Stadium, aiming to level the series.

The high-voltage clash will kick off at 07:30 PM (PST).

The Men in Green were handed a 63-run loss by the touring party in the third T20I, thanks to a sensational batting display by Harry Brook and Ben Duckett and a great bowling performance.

The hosts were below par in their bowling and batting department, as the visitors posted a mammoth 221 runs on the scoreboard before restricting the Green Shirts to 158 runs.

Going into the prestigious ICC T20 World Cup in October, the dismal performance, especially of the middle-order, is needed to be addressed and the team needs to choose the right combination for the mega event.

Although England continued to test their healthy bench, Pakistan is unable to do so because of a shortage of quality players on the bench and injuries to certain important players.

In the third game on Friday, Pakistan stayed the same while England made three adjustments and added the effective pacers Reece Topley and Mark Wood.

Will Jacks, making his T20I debut, made a significant impact with the bat. His quickfire 22-ball score of 40 helped Harry Brook and Ben Duckett build a 139-run unbroken partnership, the fourth-highest fourth-wicket stand in T20Is.

The unruly bowling of Pakistan allowed the visitors to score a massive total of 221-3 in the allocated 20 overs.

Then Pakistan lost four top-order wickets with only 28 on the board. Pakistan crumbled under pressure and managed only 158-8.

However, one plus point for the hosts was the performance of Shan Masood, who played a fighting inning, smashing 64 runs off 40 balls and remained not out.

Despite the left-handed batter’s positive innings, the team needs a few more to strengthen the middle order which has been exposed repeatedly in recent matches.
