PAK vs ENG: Haris Rauf took two wickets, while every other Pakistani bowler claimed a wicket each

LAHORE: An all-round performance by Pakistan bowlers helped Pakistan beat England by five runs in the fifth T20I of the seven-match series here at the Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday.

Opting to bowl first, England bowled out Pakistan for 145 runs, which the Green Shirts defended to win the match, getting a 3-2 lead in the seven-match series.

In another last-over thriller, debutant Aamir Jamal kept his cool in the last over to get the better of England skipper Moeen Ali and David Willey to win the match for his side.

Jamal bowled two overs and claimed a wicket, while giving away 14 runs.

England’s stand-in skipper Moeen played a fighting knock, scoring 51 runs in 37 balls.

Meanwhile, Haris Rauf claimed two wickets, while Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Mohammad Wasim Jr took a scalp each.

England’s opener, Phil Salt and Alex Hales couldn’t deliver with the bat as they were sent back to the pavilion for three and one runs, respectively.

However, Dawid Malan scored 36 runs in 35 balls but Iftikhar trapped him for an lbw.

Earlier, a sensational bowling display helped England bowl out Pakistan for a paltry 145 runs in 19 overs.

Winning the toss, England opted to bowl first and executed their plans well to bowl out the hosts for a low 145 runs.

Mark Wood was sensational as he claimed three wickets and gave away only 20 runs in four overs bowled. While David Willey and Sam Curran secured two scalps each to topple the Green Shirts batting order.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Rizwan was the lone fighter on the field as he smashed 63 runs in 46 balls including two fours and three maximums.
