Newcastle vs Chelsea
English Premier League
Date: Saturday, 12 November 2022
Kick-off at 17:30 UK/ 18:30 CET
Venue: St. James’ Park.

Newcastle are on a mission. They are backed by possibly the richest owners in PL history, and they are determined to make it count. They are at home this weekend, and will be counted as the favorites to register a victory against the struggling Chelsea.

The Magpies are currently placed third in the table, with only Arsenal and Manchester City ahead of them.

They are on a long winning streak, and they lost just once all through the campaign. They conceded the least number of goals of all the teams in the competition, and only the top two teams scored more goals than them.

It is also impressive that they have maintained an unbeaten record at home so far. In fact, barring just three draws here, they have a perfect winning record, and one of these draws came against Manchester City as well.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have been pushed out of the top-four as of now, and are currently on a long winless run. They also won just thrice on the road all through the campaign, and they let in goals in plenty all along.

They might have the better h2h record over the years but recent form suggests that Newcastle have this game in the bag.

Newcastle are on a winning streak that stretches back a month, and they are on an unbeaten run that extends back till August. It is also quite reassuring to their fans that their latest league game ended in a 1-4 win against Aston Villa.

Particularly at home they have been on a great run right from the start of the year. In fact, since the first week of January they lost just once at this venue – and that too in April, against Liverpool.

On the other hand, Chelsea crashed out of the EFL Cup against Manchester City the last match-day. And before that they lost against Arsenal in the league.

They also are on a rather poor streak away from home, and all of these point towards a simple inference – that we are about to witness a win for Newcastle this Saturday.
